Since we didn’t want to make a trip to the grocery, we decided to make our own. We whipped up this no-churn Oreo ice cream after dinner, and it was ready to be devoured after sitting in the freezer overnight!

Check out how me made this super easy Oreo Ice Cream with only four ingredients!

No Churn Oreo Ice Cream

No Churn Oreo Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 2 250mL packs all purpose cream (chilled)
  • 1 300mL can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 20-25 pcs Oreos

Instructions:

  1. Chop the Oreos, crushing about half into a fine crumb, while leaving the rest into big chunks. Set aside.
  2. In a big bowl, whip the chilled All Purpose Cream and vanilla extract using an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
  3. Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and fold in carefully using a spatula. This recipe is on the sweet side, so add less sweetened condensed milk if you prefer.
  4. Add in 3/4 of the crushed Oreos and stir to combine.
  5. Pour into a freezer-safe container, then top with the rest of the Oreos. Cover with the container lid or plastic wrap.
  6. Freeze for at least 6 hours, or overnight.
  7. Scoop and enjoy!

No Churn Oreo Ice Cream

That’s it! Super easy and no need for an ice cream machine! The actual prep and making of this recipe only took about 10 minutes. The hardest part was waiting for it to freeze, but the anticipation for that sweet and creamy scoop? Definitely worth it when you get giddy smiles from your little one as soon as you get to dig in.

Try this recipe and tag me on my instagram @annings, so I can see what you guys made.

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table https://www.acraftedlifestyle.com/2018/happy-lunch-at-cdp-global-table/ https://www.acraftedlifestyle.com/2018/happy-lunch-at-cdp-global-table/#respond Tue, 29 May 2018 14:41:08 +0000 https://www.acraftedlifestyle.com/?p=1967 Mothers need a break from motherhood once in a while. We shouldn’t feel guilty about asking for a bit of time off. No, it’s not being selfish. We need a break, not to get away from the kids, or to escape our responsibilities and the long list of household chores that need tackling, but we must in order to recharge. Sometimes all we need is an hour or two away to unwind and let loose, in order for us to come back a more happy and loving mother.

Two weeks ago, I finally got the mommy break that I needed over a #HappyLunch at CDP Global Table. Together with some Mothers Who Brunch friends, we shared stories of our motherhood highs and lows, while trying dish after dish of mouth-watering goodness.

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table

CDP Global Table (Chef Du Partie), founded by Malou Fores of Mamou and Recovery Food, Katrina Alcantara of Mesclun and Chuck’s Deli, and Kristine Locsin formerly of Lu in 2014, is a quaint bar and restaurant offering a taste of world flavors. A global table, serving dishes influenced by the travels of the three restaurant heads and their love for Paris, New York and Manila.

During our lunch, we were treated to some of the restaurant’s bestsellers, as well as the fresh additions to their menu. Check out some of the dishes that we tried:

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table: Squash Flowers

Squash Flowers

These Squash Flowers, fried in a light batter and served with blue cheese sauce, was surprisingly good. Crispy, with a lingering sweet floral flavor, it was the perfect start to our meal!

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table: Chorizo Quesadilla

Chorizo Quesadilla

Made with CDP’s homemade chorizo, this Chorizo Quesadilla was cheesy and savory. Something I would definitely go back for.

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table: Nicoise Cups

Nicoise Cups

A variation of the classic French salad, CDP’s Nicoise Cups is a star on its own. Seared tuna, on a bed of romaine lettuce, purple cabbage, olives, hard boiled egg, and served with anchovy vinaigrette, each bite is packed with so much flavor, without being too heavy.

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table: Manuka Chèvre

Manuka Chèvre

Arugula, lola rosa, dried cranberries, fuet, almonds, Malagos chèvre, cherry tomatoes and pine nuts, tossed and drizzled with red wine vinaigrette, manuka honey and extra virgin olive oil.

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table: Mussels in Taragon Cream, Tomato Clam Broth and Curry

Mussels in Tarragon Cream, Tomato Clam Broth and Curry

Local mussels, served three different ways. My favorite among the three? Mussels in Tarragon Cream! There was just something about the creamy soup, plus the aroma and flavor of the tarragon that made me want to slurp the soup dry!

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table: Prawn Pappardelle

Prawn Pappardelle

This Prawn Pappardelle was a favorite among the mommies!

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table: Lobster Vongole

Maine Lobster Vongole

Vongole, done right! Spaghettini, fennel bulb, Manila clams, and lobster tail, flown in all the way from Maine!

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table: Duck Olio

Duck Olio

I’m a fan of Aglio Olio, and this Duck Olio takes the simple flavors of garlic and olive oil a notch higher, with the addition of duck oil and duck confit floss. So good! I think my six-year-old would enjoy this, too!

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table: Steak Frites

Steak Frites

400 grams USDA Prime Ribeye, cooked medium rare. Tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Need I say more?

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table: Barbecue Ribs

Barbecue Ribs

Another meat favorite, CDP’s Barbecue Ribs are served with corn on cob, coleslaw and mashed potato.

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table: Chicken Cordon Bleu

Chicken Cordon Bleu

Something to please the kids, CDP makes their Chicken Cordon Bleu really well. Crunchy on the outside, tender meat, and oozing with lots of cheese inside. Yes, please!

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table: Porchetta

Porchetta

Tender pork belly, with the skin still crispy, just the way porchetta should be! Bursting with flavor, this went really well with the mashed potatoes.

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table: Aperol Spritz

Aperol Spritz

We enjoyed all the delectable dishes with our glasses of Aperol Spritz. A concoction of Proseco, Aperol Vanilla liquor and soda water, this light and refreshing aperitif was the perfect cocktail for the hot summer day. With just the right combination of bitter, sweet and bubbly, it makes it hard to resist the temptation of ordering another glass! No worries and no judgement; CDP currently has a Happy Lunch promo of 2 for 1 on house wines, spritzes, beers and CDP cocktails!

Happy Lunch at CDP Global Table with Mothers Who Brunch

L-R: Leona, Gia, Michelle, Nikki, Marie, Em, Maggie, Sabrina, me, and Sheila

I had to rush off for school pickup right after we were done with our mains. I missed out on the dessert and more mommy fun, but I wasn’t too bummed out; two hours spent enjoying the company of like-minded women over drinks and yummy food, was enough for me to feel recharged and ready for all the motherhood duties waiting for me. While driving back to my daughter, I already felt happier and more relaxed. I must remind myself to take these mini breaks more often.

What about you? When was the last time you took a break? Go on, take that break. Don’t feel guilty. Take an hour or two off and maybe have a glass or two at CDP Global Table in Rockwell, while you’re at it. I know I’ll be back, soon!

Coat, Fry, Dip: McCormick Agemono Fry Set & Dipping Sauce https://www.acraftedlifestyle.com/2018/coat-fry-dip-mccormick-agemono-fry-set-dipping-sauce/ https://www.acraftedlifestyle.com/2018/coat-fry-dip-mccormick-agemono-fry-set-dipping-sauce/#respond Wed, 23 May 2018 06:47:26 +0000 https://www.acraftedlifestyle.com/?p=1913 When it comes to my kitchen and pantry staples, there are a couple of brands that I have trusted for years. One of them, a brand that I’ve seen my mother use in her own kitchen, is McCormick. From quick-cooking dishes, to feasts that would take hours to prepare, McCormick has always played a role in making our homemade meals special.

McCormick’s Flavor Nation Festival, held last May 13, brought the flavors of East Asia to life, as they launched their latest: Agemono Fry Set and Dipping Sauce. We got to try some authentic Japanese dishes, cooked using the fry sets and sauces, and saw for ourselves how easy they are to recreate in our our own homes.

McCormick Agemono Fry Set in Tempura, Karaage and Tonkatsu
The new McCormick Agemono Fry Sets come in three variants: Tempura, Karaage and Tonkatsu, each one containing a packet of coating mix and sauce to match.

McCormick Dipping Sauces in Tonkatsu, Teriyaki, Sweet Chili and Sriracha
While the new McCormick Sauces come in bottles of: Tonkatsu, Teriyaki, Sweet Chili and Sriracha.

McCormick Tempura Agemono Fry Set McCormick Tempura Agemono Fry Set
The Tempura Agemono Fry Set comes with 90g Tempura Coating Mix and 30g Tempura Sauce.

Samplers were served during the McCormick Flavor Nation Festival, and they were a hit! The shrimps were coated in the Tempura Mixture (combined with ice cold water to make a batter) and deep-fried to a crisp. Served with the Tempura Sauce, every bite felt like we were dining at a fancy Japanese restaurant!

McCormick Karaage Agemono Fry Set with Sweet Chili Sauce McCormick Karaage Agemono Fry Set with Sweet Chili Sauce
The Karaage Agemono Fry Set comes with 60g Karaage Coating Mix and 25g Sweet Chili Sauce.

Making this Chicken Karaage is pretty simple. You just need to toss bite-size pieces of boneless chicken in the Coating Mix, then deep fry until golden. Drizzle with the Sweet Chili Sauce, and you’ll have dinner ready within minutes!

Can’t get enough of the Sweet Chili Sauce? It’s also available by the bottle. Yum!

McCormick Tonkatsu Agemono Fry Set with Tonkatsu Sauce McCormick Tonkatsu Agemono Fry Set with Tonkatsu Sauce
The Tonkatsu Agemono Fry Set comes with 85g Tonkatsu Coating Mix and 25g Tonkatsu Sauce.

Pork Tonkatsu is a favorite of the family, and cooking this at home is now easier, thanks to  the new  Tonkatsu Agemono Fry Set. By simply dipping some pork loin in egg wash, coating them with the Coating Mix, then deep-frying until golden brown, you’ll have this delicious meal ready in no time. Serve with white rice, some shredded cabbage and a side of Tonkatsu sauce for dipping, and your family will think you’re some kind of Japanese chef rockstar! Woot!

The Tonkatsu Sauce is available by the bottle, too. Perfect for endless Tonkatsu dipping!

McCormick Sriracha Sauce
For those who like a spicy kick, there’s the new McCormick Sriracha Sauce, available by the bottle. You can add the sauce to anything from egg, bread and pizza, to fried munchies like these Fish Cake Balls. Remember to drizzle lightly, because it’s hot, hot, hot!

McCormick Teriyaki Sauce
The McCormick Teriyaki Sauce is also available by the bottle. This sauce can be used to marinate meat, or for dipping. Prefect for some Grilled Chicken Teriyaki.

Michelle Aventajado and Sabrina Go of Mothers Who Brunch at the McCormick Flavor Nation Festival
The Agemono Fry Sets and Dipping Sauces can be used in many different ways. During the Festival, my favorite mommy duo, Michelle Aventajado and Sabrina Go of Mothers Who Brunch, shared some recipes to make simple, yet tasty meals using McCormick’s latest products.

McCormick Flavor Nation Festival: Kale Tempura with Spicy Salmon and Tuna Salad by Mothers Who Brunch
Like this Kale Tempura with Spicy Tuna & Salmon Salad. This dish was made by coating kale in tempura batter (using the coating mix inside McCormick’s Tempura Agemono Fry Set), and deep-frying each piece to a crisp. The crunchy kale was then topped with bite-size chunks of fresh salmon and tuna, tossed in a mixture of McCormick Sriracha Sauce and mayonnaise. Simple, easy, and extra yummy!

Check out the full recipe: HERE.

McCormick Flavor Nation Festival: Shrimp & Kani Tonkatsu Sliders with Sweet Chili Mayonnaise by Mothers Who Brunch
They also shared how to make these Shrimp & Kani Tonkatsu Sliders with Sweet Chili Mayonnaise. Super filling, super good!

Check out the full recipe: HERE.

Michelle Aventajado and Sabrina Go of Mothers Who Brunch at the McCormick Flavor Nation Festival: Ladies of Mothers Who BrunchMichelle Aventajado and Sabrina Go of Mothers Who Brunch at the McCormick Flavor Nation Festival: Ladies of Mothers Who Brunch
Sampled the food and the East Asian flavors with these mommas; the yummy food and the good company made the sweltering heat more bearable. We can’t wait to try making these dishes in our own homes.

With McCormick’s new Agemono Fry Sets and Dipping Sauces, cooking delicious food at home is so much easier. With the Fry Sets ranging from ₱59 to ₱62 each, and the Dipping Sauces varying from ₱75 to ₱115, serving restaurant-quality meals at home, is not only possible, it’s more affordable, too! Preparing yummy family meals that are both easy and budget-friendly? Mom-approved!

Hailed as one of the best coffee shops in Japan, Filipino coffee lovers can now enjoy % Arabica‘s much-raved coffee experience, at their first Philippine branch in Bonifacio Global City. Brewing on the ground floor of W City Center, customers will be greeted by a relaxed and fuss-free interior upon entering. With the straight and clean lines, the pale and simple wood furnishing, and the white and neutral tones dominating, the Japanese culture of minimalism definitely encapsulates the entire space.

Coffee connoisseurs will be spoilt by % Arabica‘s quality coffee. Using only 100% arabica beans, they ensure customers are served great-tasting coffee, every single time. Now I don’t need to fly out to Singapore to have my fill of my favorite Kouign Amann from Tiong Bahru Bakery! Yay! And you can tell that it was good, because I gobbled it all up before I was able to take a decent shot! Ha!

Another thing that sets % Arabica apart from other coffee shops is that you can have your chosen beans roasted freshly on the spot and ready to be taken home within minutes! You have the option to choose the type of roast, based on your preference, too.
